Purpose

Our purpose at Westoak Woods Baptist Preschool is to provide a Christ-centered, safe and positive environment that is developmentally appropriate and nurtures the “whole child” through physical, intellectual, emotional, and social play-based learning while recognizing the individual needs and differences of children.

Christian Values

Through Christian principles and teacher-directed/assisted activities children are encouraged to be independent thinkers and life-long learners. Our preschool is a ministry of Westoak Woods Baptist Church. Age appropriate spiritual lessons are woven into our daily activities. Our goal is to develop a healthy, positive concept within the children, as well as awareness they are loved by God.

Curriculum

We are a play-based school founded on the Weekday Early Education Learning curriculum (WEE Learn) and Baptist values. Weekly focus units are lead by our STEM, music, and spiritual devotional directors. All activities enhance the physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of each child. Children learn through play and discovery. Class room activities include: dramatic play, home living, music, reading, art, nature studies, and coordination. Through our school children gain self-confidence, mature emotionally, and develop socially. Teachers share a love of numbers, reading, and good literature throughout our daily activities. Children are prepared for language development, number concepts, pre-reading, and pre-math readiness.
